Music – ‘Khyal’ Singing

Written by Roobaroo Team

The stage of Roobaroo House was set alive with a scintillating performance of Khyal Gayaki, from the Banaras gharana of Indian classical music! The artists on the stage were – Garun on the vocals, Shanu on table, and Shrikant on the harmonium. Garun has won numerous accolades for his singing at multiple stages, and has been training under PadmaShree Pt. Rajan Saajan Mishra ji since a very early age! The fantastic trio not only enthralled the audience with a variety of Ragas, of different moods, but also enlightened us with the basics of Khyal gayaki, its origins and the significance of the various ragas leaving us with more than just a mesmerising performance! Check out the video for excerpts from the performance 🙂 https://youtu.be/RRyoqvkd-Mw
