The 3.5 km trail from Dehradun, half way up to Mussoorie, to the small township of Barlowgunj, affords beautiful vistas of the Doon Valley and gives insights into how the twin towns of Dehradun and Mussoorie evolved, once the queen of hills was discovered in the 1820s. Rudyard Kipling took this trail and so did many others, each one with a story to tell.
