Mehrauli: The origins of Delhi Walk

Varanasi
Everyday

The quaint, green, and monuments-abound site of Mehrauli is the ideal setting to discuss the grand saga of the first interaction between the Islamic and Hindu civilizations, which started towards the end of the 12th century and changed the course of North India forever!

Join us as we trace the shifting patterns of Architecture and design motifs in the Qutub complex to reconstruct how the ideas were exchanged and imbibed over time. Revel in the often unbelievable stories of Kings, Queen (India’s first!), Saints and Slaves who played pivotal roles; and understand the dynamics of educational institutions, civil courts, and social structures of medieval India. Rediscover history in a fun way ☺

Great day in Delhi with Roobaroo

We had a great day in Delhi with Roobaroo walks. We asked them specifically to take us to the Mehrauli ruins and they promptly researched the area and constructed a fascinating tour through it which enhanced our historical understanding and appreciation of the site. Plus, Roobaroo always has the best stories! Afterwards, Aayush took me to the Gurudwara Bangla Sahib Sikh temple, and showed me around with deep knowledge and sensitivity. Helping out in the Gurudwara kitchen after eating lunch with the community was one of the highlights of my trip :-).

Fantastic Private Walk in Qutub Minar and Mehrauli Archaeological Park

We had a great walk with our storyteller Akansha – who had done all the research to curate this walk. It was a really lovely walk through the oldest part of Delhi. And the Roobaroo team is very well organised so everything went off very smoothly.
